Amazon sets the stage for its first Prime Day in June since 2021

Amazon (AMZN) plans to offer Prime customers megadeals earlier than usual this year as higher fuel costs strain shoppers’ budgets.

Telsey Advisory Group analyst Joe Feldman said that the revised timing makes sense for the company. “It makes you think that they’re trying to do something to drive sales in the second quarter,” Feldman said. “They have found that as great as Prime Day in the summer is in July …(it) misses the July Fourth holiday weekend, and especially with America 250 happening, they want to get in front of that.”
